Kate reveals Princess Charlotte’s favourite hair style as she talks to children at hospice - Express

Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, was greeted by dozens of school children waving paper flags as she arrived to open the new building in Framingham Earl, Norfolk. She wore a stunning purple dress with peplum detailing for the event where she is a due to unveil a plague to officially open the charity’s new centre, The Nook on Friday afternoon. Kate, who has been patron of the charity since 2012, showed her maternal side as she stopped to talk with children and their families who will be using the new facilities and even revealed Princess Charlotte's favourite hairstyle while having a candid chat with one of the young girls.

Rebecca English of the Daily Mail, who is at the event, said Kate complimented one of the girls on her hairstyle.

She said: “I love your plaits. My little girl Charlotte loves plaits but her hair’s only this long so we have to do them at the top.”

Princess Charlotte, four, is Kate and Prince William's second eldest child, with Prince George, six, being the eldest and Prince Louis, one, is the youngest.

The Duchess continued to show her maternal side as she met with Stanley Harrold outside the hospice, he's three and has a rare chromosomal disorder, Pallister-Killian syndrome.

She is set to meet more children and families being supported by East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) as she undertakes a tour of the hospice.

Kate helped to launch the £10million Nook Appeal five years ago to raise funds for a new state-of-the-art children’s hospice to replace their old facility at Quidenham.

She attended the launch of The Nook appeal in November 2014 and Friday's visit will be exactly two years since the first "turf cutting" at the site.

The new build features a hydrotherapy pool, a sensory room and en-suite family accommodation.

The charity provides care and support to children with life-threatening conditions and their families across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.

Their care service includes specialist nursing care, symptom management nursing, short breaks, well-being activities, therapies, counselling and volunteer services in the family home; all meeting the individual needs of the child, young person and whole family.

Kate will meet children, young people and families taking part in arts and crafts activities during her visit before making a short speech to invited guests.

It's not the first time Kate has worn the striking purple dress, costing £2,736, having previously worn it at a Health Writers conference in 2017 and then again this January when she visited the costume department at the Royal Opera House.

For Friday's visit she paired the dress with £520 Gianvito Rossi heels and a black Aspinal clutch bag.

Speaking of the new site opening, a spokesperson for EACH told HELLO! magazine: “The Nook is a 21st century building to provide 21st century care, spread across a single floor, with more areas for clinical care, larger and better equipped en-suite bedrooms, dedicated therapy rooms and much more.

“It will allow us to fully cater for an increased demand for our service and the ever-changing and more complex needs of those we care for.

“Set on a five-acre woodland site, closer to the centre of the county, hospitals and road networks, it also means the majority of families and staff will travel shorter distances to receive and deliver care.”
