Kate, Duchess of Cambridge will form part of a royal welcoming party for NATO leaders and their partners at Buckingham Palace On Tuesday evening. The reception was to mark the 70th anniversary of NATO which has been commemorated in London today.
Queen Elizabeth II will host the special evening at Buckingham Palace and will be supported by a string of other royal family members.
All of her children, bar Prince Andrew, will attend the event and help to welcome guests.

“This will be followed by a group photograph of Her Majesty and His Royal Highness with the Heads of State and Government.
“The Queen, The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, The Duchess of Cambridge, The Earl of Wessex, The Princess Royal, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Princess Alexandra will welcome the guests in the State Rooms of Buckingham Palace.”
The stylish Duchess of Cambridge will come face to face with America’s First Lady Melania Trump who will mark her second official visit to Buckingham Palace tonight.
Melania and President Trump were welcomed by the Queen at Buckingham Palace during a state visit to the UK in June.
Wills will return to the UK on December 4 and while Kate has been in charge of childcare while Wills is away she has also remained dedicated to royal duty.
Her appearance at this evening reception is a key sign she is preparing for her future role as Queen Consort and is deemed more than capable by the Queen.
Last year, to mark Kate and Prince William’s eight wedding anniversary the Queen presented the Duchess of Cmbridge with a very special honour.
She made her a Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, a special title given by the Queen as thanks for the Duchess’s service to the crown.
The Royal Victorian Order dates back by 1896 and has five classes from Member to Knight or Dame Grand Cross, its highest rank.
Unlike other titles, this award is made solely at the Queen’s discretion and not at the recommendation of Downing Street.
The award reveals the Queen’s high opinion of Kate and her growing royal role.
The title is presented for services to the crown and has five grades, representing different levels of service.
Other senior royals to have received the honour include the Duchess of Cornwall, Princess Anne and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex.
