Eddie Murphy is not married… yet
The Dr. Dolittle star is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Australian actress, Paige Butcher. Murphy, 58, and Butcher, 40, have dated since 2012.
The reason you likely don’t hear much about her? Butcher has zero social media presence. She deleted all of her online accounts after she started dating the Raw comedian,
“I felt like there’s already enough of me out there,” Butcher said of the move in a 2013 interview with Vanity Fair. “I felt like I was giving out too much information … [and] too much access. I like to keep as much private as possible now. As you say, people will use anything against you. The more you put out, the more you get back..”
In 2016, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Izzy Oona. In 2018, they had a son, Max Charles Murphy. The Norbit actor popped the question the same year.

He has a total of 10 children.
Murphy had his first child, a son named Eric, in 1989 with his then-girlfriend, Paulette McNeely. The following year, he had a son, Christian, with a woman named Tamara Hood. While Eric mostly lives off the grid, Christian has appeared in a few productions, including Cougars Inc. and The Shield.
The Coming to America actor and model Nicole Murphy, also have five kids: daughters Bria, Shayne Audra, Zola Ivy, Bella Zahra, and son Miles Mitchell. The couple started dating in the late ’80s, married in 1993, and divorced in 2006. Nicole filed, citing irreconcilable differences.
Following their split, Murphy started dating Spice Girl Melanie Brown — aka Mel B. They dated for nine months — a period in which Brown conceived their daughter, Angel. But things turned sour after Murphy allegedly questioned whether he was the father. Later, a DNA test proved that he was.
Who else has Murphy dated?
Murphy reportedly dated singer Whitney Houston back in the mid-1980s.
He also exchanged vows with film producer Tracey Edmonds in 2008. (Edmonds was previously married to legendary music producer, Babyface.) But they announced weeks later that they found it “not necessary to define [the] relationship further” with a legal ceremony. Sources later told People that Edmonds had been clashing with Murphy’s mother and that she also did not want to change her last name.
After that, Murphy reportedly started dating actress Maya Gilbert. But that quickly fizzled.
And in 2012, there were rumors that he and Toni Braxton were an item. But Murphy later quashed the speculation, telling Access Hollywood that they were only friends. He started seeing Butcher the same year.
