Sources close to the Sussexes revealed that the family returned to the playgroup that Meghan visited with Archie on October 15 before attending the WellChild Awards in London with Harry, where he burst into tears at the thought of parents struggling with such sick children. It is not clear how many times Meghan has been back to the playgroup since but sources yesterday confirmed that Harry had accompanied them for the first time this week.
Six-month-old Master Archie Mountbatten-Windsor appears to have enjoyed himself.
“Archie had a fantastic time. He was crawling around and was particularly taken with two other red-haired babies.
“The Duke said: ‘Gingers stick together!’” a source said.
The experience of meeting other parents with similar aged children is something that Harry may have relished.
When Meghan took Archie the first time she was able to reassure him about his son’s lack of hair.
At the awards ceremony last month she told other parents: “I just took Archie for his first [playgroup] class. It was a lot of fun. He loved it.”
Mum Angela Sutherland recalled: “ Harry said he’d had no hair for five months, but Meghan told him she had taken him to the playgroup and she said there were other children there with the same amount of hair or even less.”
Buckingham Palace declined to comment and has shied away from naming the playgroup, citing security concerns.
