[１７日 ロイター] - トルコのエルドアン大統領は、米電気自動車（ＥＶ）大手テスラ(TSLA.O)のイーロン・マスク最高経営責任者（ＣＥＯ）とニューヨークで会談し、トルコでの工場建設を要請した。国営アナドル通信が１７日、Ｘ（旧ツイッター）への投稿で報じた。

エルドアン氏は国連総会に出席するため訪米している。

マスク氏は１８日にカリフォルニア州でイスラエルのネタニヤフ首相とも会談する予定で、人工知能（ＡＩ）技術が会談の焦点になるとの見通しを示している。

テスラは８月、低価格ＥＶを生産する工場をインドに建設することに関心を示していた。同社は現時点で６つの工場を持ち、メキシコ北部ヌエボレオン州に７カ所目を建設している。

マスク氏は５月、おそらく年内に新工場の建設地を決定すると述べた。

ロシア侵攻で通信網を破壊されたウクライナに、衛星Starlinkからネットを提供して時の人となったSpaceX社のイーロン・マスクCEO。

しかし、いよいよクリミア出撃の決戦のときになってエンジニアにネットを遮断するよう命じ、ウクライナ無人艇によるロシア黒海艦隊作戦を失敗させていたことが、ウォルター・アイザクソンの新著『Elon Musk』で明らかになりました。

｢無人艇は接続を失って、ダメージを加えることのないまま岸に打ち上げられた｣と、9月12日発売の評伝書には書かれています。

核の報復を恐れた？

イーロン・マスクの話によると、衛星ネット通信を遮断する決断は、ロシア政府上層部と話し合って下したものだとのこと。

昨年9月にアスペンで開かれた政治家・財界人が集うカンファレンスでは、壇上に立って

プーチンは和平を求めている。プーチンと和平交渉すべきだ

とロシア寄りの発言をして、｢おいおい侵略したのはロシアだろう｣と言われる場面もありましたけど（The New Yorkerにリード・ホフマンLinkedIn社CEOが語った証言）、マスク的には、｢クリミア半島でウクライナ軍が勝利を収めたらロシア軍は核兵器を発動するかもしれない｣と、急に怖くなったということですね。

評伝の著者にはこうこぼしていますよ。

｢なんで自分が戦争関与？ Starlinkは戦争で使うために開発したんじゃないのに｣

｢ネトフリ観て、チルして、学校のオンライン授業で使ったり、他愛もない平和なことに使うために開発したものであって、ドローン攻撃のために作ったんじゃない｣

さっそくウクライナからは、ミハイロ・フェドロフ・デジタル改革担当大臣直々に、ネット復旧を求めるテキストメッセージが飛んできました。

｢テクノロジーで世界を変える人であるあなたにだけはわかってほしい｣

という大臣たっての願いも虚しく、マスクは拒否。

｢ウクライナやりすぎ。そこまでやると後は戦略的敗戦まっしぐらでしょ｣

と反論するばかりで、クリミア地域における衛星通信ネットの復旧には、頑として応じなかったと書かれています。

まあ、あれから1年弱。ロシア黒海艦隊は司令塔の軍艦｢モスクワ｣まで撃沈されていますが、未だに核のボタンは押されていません。

しかしイーロンが｢核の報復を止めた｣などというのは、ただの詭弁に見えなくもないですけどね…。

ロシアとイーロンの関係

2022年2月のロシアによる侵攻開始直後に、約5,000台の接続端末を供与してウクライナに戦争継続の命綱を渡したイーロン・マスクですが、供与することでロシアに直接喧嘩吹っかけてると思われるのだけは避けたいんでしょうか。大変な気の遣いようです。

米国防省に巨額の請求を吹っかけて｢応じられなければネットは遮断する｣と強気に出たのも、ロシアの顔色を見てのこと。そう考えるといろいろ得心が行きます。

余談になりますが、イーロン・マスクとロシアには因縁があります。2001年にイーロンがロシアにロケットの買い付けに行ったとき、ロシア宇宙庁の設計責任者に冷たくあしらわれて、｢自分でロケット作ったる！｣と翌2002年3月に立ち上げたのがSpaceX（ロシアの技術者がイーロンの靴に唾を吐きかけたというNASA元副長官証言もあって、SpaceX創業秘話にもなっています。どこまで本当かは不明）。

ロケットのロシア依存を絶つ目的で、NASAとスクラム組んでやってきたわけですけど、ゼロからの出発ってわけじゃなかっただろうし、いろいろ恩義はあるのかな？と思ってしまいますよね。

＜衛星通信サービス「スターリンク」は世界の命運を左右するポテンシャルを持つ画期的なもの。だけど、それが「特殊な一般人」イーロン・マスクの手に握られていていいの？＞

すみません、誰か10兆円貸してくれない？　買いたいものがあって、クレジットカードを切ってもいいんだけど、限度額を9兆9999億9950万円ほど超えてしまうんだ。

買いたいのは今話題の「スターリンク」。これは、小さなパラボラアンテナを設置し、ルーターにつなげるだけでインターネットへアクセスできる画期的な衛星通信システムだ。僕が買いたいのはアンテナとルーターのセットではない。それは（今半額セール中で！）3万6500円しかしない。自慢じゃないけど、限度額内の数字だ！

そもそも、スターリンクの月額料金（6600円～）より安くて通信スピードが速い光ファイバーが通っている新宿区（個人情報！）に住んでいる僕にこのサービスはいらない。だが世界の中でインフラが整っていないエリアに住んでいる人にとってはゲームチェンジャーになり得るのだ。

スターリンクのコンステレーション（衛星網）には現在5000もの衛星があって、60もの国で利用可能だという。将来的に衛星の数を4万基以上まで増やし、世界のどんな辺ぴな場所からでも利用できる目標を掲げている。いつか相方のマックンが住んでいる杉並区にも、インターネットが来るかもしれない！

このサービス域の広さはスターリンクにとんでもないポテンシャルをもたらしている。そこが最大の魅力だし、僕が欲しくなる理由だ。そして欲しいのはアンテナやルーターではなく、スターリンクというシステムそのもの。だから高くつきそうなのだ。

スターリンクは群を抜いて優秀

スターリンクのすごさに世界中の人が目覚めたきっかけはウクライナ戦争。ロシア軍の攻撃によって従来の通信インフラが破壊され、光ファイバーも電波もない街や戦場からでも、ロシアの攻撃が届かない宇宙経由で情報通信を可能にしたことが革命的だった。スターリンクはウクライナの民間人にも軍にとっても命綱になった。

今の時代、衛星通信網の安全保障上の意義は単なる連絡手段だけに留まらない。戦争で実際に武力を使う場合、「目標の識別」、「標的への武力特派」、「攻撃の決定と命令」、「実行」、「成果の評価」といった過程を踏む。この流れはキル・チェーンと呼ばれるが、その全ての段階に通信がかかわることもある。

各種センサーや衛星写真による目標の識別や評価も、戦術や手段を決めるリモート会議も、命令の伝達もだ。しかも従来の銃や大砲などと違って、遠隔操作のドローンや発射から目標に当たるまで電波を利用する精密誘導兵器自体も通信に頼っている。

今後、この傾向は加速する一方と思われる。通信力が実力となり、戦場の勝負を決する可能性がさらに拡大するはず。その流れのなか、スターリンクは特に通信の優位性に寄与すると思われる。その理由は2つ。質と量だ。

まずは量。現在、われわれの頭上を飛び交う全衛星の実に半分がスターリンクのものだ。ライバル会社と桁が違う。質としては速さが挙げられる。高度2000キロ以下の「低軌道」衛星のなかでも600キロ以下を周回するスターリンク衛星は高度約3万6000キロの「静止軌道」に乗っている従来の通信衛星と、レイテンシ（遅延時間）やアップロード・ダウンロードの速さがだいぶ違う。

新型コロナウイルス感染症が、5類感染症に移行してから初めての夏。久々にマスクを外して生活をしていると、コロナ禍はわからなかった他人のニオイが鼻をつくようになった……なんていう人もいるだろう。それだけでなく、自分の汗が他人に不快な思いをさせているかも、と悩みを抱えるケースもある。気になる汗問題を解決する方法について、専門医に話を聞いた。（清談社　真島加代）

脱マスクで急増する
ニオイが気になる人

　長かったマスク生活を卒業し、人に会う機会が増えている今夏、相手の表情がわかり、コミュニケーションの取りやすさを実感するようになった。その半面、“あること”に悩む人が増えているという。

「じつは、マスク生活中には気がつかなかった“ニオイ”を、マスクを外してから感じるようになった、という人は少なくありません。人と人との距離も近くなっているので、コロナ禍よりも他人のニオイを感じやすい環境になっているためです。一度他人のニオイが気になりだすと『自分も同じようににおっているかも』という不安に駆られるケースも多いですね」

　そう話すのは、渋谷スクランブル皮膚科で院長を務める下方征氏。制汗剤ブランド「デオナチュレ」を販売しているシービックが実施したニオイに関するアンケート（*）でも、コロナ禍に行った同じ調査の結果と比べて「自分のニオイが気になるようになった」と回答した人は15％増、「他人のニオイが気になるようになった」と答えた人は25％も増えたという結果に。

　また、ニオイを気にする人が増えているだけでなく、コロナ禍を経て、実際に汗のニオイが強くなっている人もいる、と下方氏。

「汗は本来無臭です。しかし、コロナ禍以降、運動不足になっていたり、在宅ワークで汗をかきにくい生活を送っている人は、体が“汗のかき方”を忘れている可能性があります。汗をかかない状態が続くと、発汗に関わる汗腺という器官の機能が衰えてしまうんです。そこから出る汗には、ミネラルやアンモニアなどの『ニオイ成分』が多く含まれており、その汗が皮膚の表面や毛穴の中にいる雑菌と混じり合うと、さらに強いニオイが発生します」

　とくにニオイの発生源になりやすいのが、耳裏、首のうしろと背中上部。ここは、皮脂を分泌する“皮脂腺”が多く、汗と皮脂が混ざりやすい要注意スポットとのこと。

「また、年齢を重ねると汗腺の中に脂肪酸（パルミトレイン酸）を含んだ皮脂が発生します。それが酸化すると『ノネナール』という成分に変わるのですが、このノネナールこそが“加齢臭”と呼ばれるニオイです。汗腺の機能が低下しているところに、加齢臭も発生している人は、強い体臭を発している可能性があります」

　中高年男性には耳の痛い話だが、マスク生活で体臭のケアを怠っていた人は、特に意識を向ける必要があるかもしれない。

〈 「お前はもう逮捕や」マスク着用拒否で飛行機が緊急着陸…“マスク拒否おじさん”が《ピーチ機緊急着陸事件》で警察に捕まった瞬間 〉から続く

　2020年9月、釧路から関西空港に向かうピーチ・アビエーションの機内でマスクの着用を拒否し、飛行機を強制降機させられた「マスク拒否おじさん」こと奥野淳也氏。奥野氏は2021年1月19日に威力業務妨害などの疑いで大阪府警に逮捕され、1月22日に同罪で起訴された。そして2022年12月、大阪地裁で「懲役2年執行猶予4年」の判決を受け、現在これを全面不服とし大阪高裁に控訴している。

　そんな奥野氏が、世間を賑わせた「ピーチ機緊急着陸事件」について綴った著書『 マスク狂想曲 ２０２０‐２０２２年日本 魔女狩りの記録 』（徳間書店）を9月1日に上梓した。ここでは、同書より一部を抜粋し、奥野氏の逮捕中に起こっていた出来事を紹介する。（全2回の2回目／ 1回目 から続く）

留置房では一睡もできず、食事もほとんど取れない状態で取り調べが始まる

　車は1時間ほど走り、長い橋にさしかかった。フロントガラスから見えるのは、夜の海、大きな橋、どうやら見覚えがある。4ヶ月前に来たところだ。空港連絡橋をわたって、車はさらに先の関西空港警察署に着いた。署の建物に入ると警察官総出で出迎え。もう午後9時過ぎのことである。それから取調室に通された。

　逮捕初日は、「弁録」と呼ばれる短い手続きだけだった。弁護士を頼めるとの告知を受けたので、私は東京の知っている弁護士の名前を言い、電話してくださいと伝えた。その後、留置房に移された。既に消灯時間が過ぎていて、一面暗い。一番手前の房に入るように言われ、そして鍵をかけられた。

「起床────！」看守の大きな声が響き渡った。もう朝である。旅先でもどこでも寝られる私も、この時ばかりは一睡もできなかった。朝食はコッペパンひとつとプラスチックのコップに注がれた酸っぱい紅茶。昨夜はおにぎりだけで空腹だったが、慣れない環境で胃がきりきりしてほとんど食べられなかった。

　この日は1日中、取調べだった。1990年代の空港開港時に建てられた警察署は、まだ新しい部類で、刑事ドラマに出てくるような煙草くさい部屋ではなく、モダンな作りだった。朝9時過ぎ、留置房から出され、取調室に連れられた。取調べを行うのは、昨日自宅アパートに来た捜査一課の警察官である。狭い取調室で警察官2人と向かい合うように座らされた。被疑者の私は、腰縄を椅子に括り付けられ、その縄についた錠で二重に椅子に固定されている。ひとりが尋問し、もうひとりは後ろに控え何も話さずひたすらこちらの様子を観察するというスタイルだ。

「まず、はじめに聞くけどな、マスクはしないのか？」「しません」。私はきっぱりと言った。「なんでや？」「いや、するはずないでしょう。私がマスク拒否おじさんと巷で呼ばれているのは知っているでしょう。警察に言われて着けるはずないじゃないですか」

　名前、生年月日、出生地、父母の名前など、まずは身上関係から取調べが始まった。そして小学校、中学校、高校と成育歴の聴取に進んでいった。どんな病気をしたか、学校での成績はどうだったか、友達はいたか、犯罪の背景を調べたいのだろう。しかし、こちらはそもそも無罪主張である。こんなのに答えても無意味だし、実につまらない。

「これは、くさいなあ」と弁護士が言ったワケ

　昼食の1時間をはさんで、午後もずっと取調べは続いた。昼下がり、だんだん眠たくなってきた。途中で私は休憩を求めた。「昨日寝ていないので、もう眠気で答えられないです。コーヒーでも飲めないですか?」。警察官はいらつきを隠さず机をたたいた。スチール机は音がよく響く。「昔やったらな、コーヒーどころか水ぶっかけられてるぞ。今の時代は優しくなったけどな、なめとったこと言うとったらな、お前な」

　その後も、取調べは続いた。朦朧として質疑がかみ合わなくなった。「この調子やったら進まへんからな、5分だけ休憩やるわ」。その間に、同じ捜査一課の別の警察官が部屋に入ってきて、押収品を返すための還付請書の手続きをしたいと言ってきた。結局、休憩はとれなかった。取調べが再開された。「客観的なとこから行こな」警察官が矢継ぎ早に質問を浴びせてくる。はいともいいえとも、このような所でいい加減なことは言えない。「弁護士さんが来たぞ」。そこで取調べは一時中断になり、私は接見室に移った。午後4時くらいだった。やっと解放された。

　アクリル板の真ん中に、会話する部分だけ小さな穴がいくつか開いている。私は接見室に弁護士が入ってきたのを見て、立ち上がって一礼した。私が連絡するよう頼んだ東京の弁護士が派遣してくれた人で、大阪で刑事事件を専門に手掛けている弁護士のようである。「逮捕状にはどういうことが書いてありましたか？」。私は覚えている限りで文面を述べた。「これは、くさいなあ」弁護士は言った。「相手側の主張だけなので大げさに言っている可能性が十分ある」。私はようやく味方ができたと思った。「先生、相手方は全治2週間の捻挫の診断書もとってきているようです」「全治2週間というのが怪しいなぁ。捻挫なんていくらでも書けますから」。

　その後、身の上や今の生活のことなどを話した。「まずは勾留を争いましょう。明日、検察庁に行くと思うのでそこがひとつの山場です。今からメモしてください」。私は警察支給のボールペンをとりだしメモをとろうとした。自傷防止用にペン先がほとんど出ないように細工が施されている。「すみません、ペンが出にくくてメモが遅くなって……」「これはひどいなあ。ボールペンも書きにくいでしょう。私は今すぐにでもあなたをここから出してあげたい」

まるでディストピア小説のような取り調べ

　逮捕3日目。朝、大阪地検に送検された。「今日は外に行く」と聞かされていたので、持ち込みの白いYシャツに着替えた。関空警察署の前には、朝から多くの報道陣が集まっていた。私が署の建物から外に出ると、一斉にシャッターが切られた。まっすぐカメラのほうを見て、意識して堂々と胸を張って歩いた。私は、何も悪いことはしていない。そして車に乗り込み、警察署を出発した。車が門を出るとき、運転席の前方からフラッシュが光った。私は前を見つめた。

「こんなにマスコミが来るのも珍しい」車中で護送の警察官が言っていた。取調べは大阪府警本部の捜査一課の警察官が行うが、それ以外の護送や留置は所轄の警察官が担当することになる。関空警察署では、主に外国人事件が多く、メディアを騒がすような事件はほとんどないようである。しかも、新型コロナで海外発着便も途絶え、関西空港が閑散としていると、関空警察署も捕まえる人がいなくて暇であるらしい。ちょうどコロナ第3波で緊急事態宣言が出されている頃だった。

　車は1時間ほど走り、大阪地検の庁舎に到着した。検事が呼ぶまで、駐車場にて待機である。駐車場の入り口にはテレビ局のクルーが1局きていた。車で待機中ずっとこちらにビデオカメラを向けている。「マスコミにずっと撮られてたら、警察官もあくびひとつできなくて大変でしょう」私は横の席の護送員に言った。

　取調べの時間が来て、個室に連れていかれた。入ると目の前には、社長が座るような大きな木製の机・椅子と、向かい合って被疑者用のパイプ椅子がある。検察権力と被疑者という圧倒的な力関係を示そうとしているのだろうか。私は腰縄と錠で椅子にくくりつけられ、部屋の片隅には見張りの警察官がいる。机の上には大きなディスプレーが置かれ、画面はこちらを向いていた。急に画面がついて、検事の顔が現れた。

　まるでジョージ・オーウェルの『一九八四年』に出てくるビッグブラザーのテレスクリーンのようだ。「新型コロナ感染拡大に伴い、取調べは遠隔で行います」検事が話した。40代くらいの中年太りの男性検事は、画面の中でもマスクをしている。

「検事さんはどこにいるんですか？」私は画面に向かって尋ねた。「それは言えませんが、この建物の別の部屋にいます」。テレワークではなく出勤しているのであれば、対面で直接向き合えばいいのに、ノーマスクの被疑者への特別対応なのだろう。逮捕事実の読み上げがあり、間違いないかと検事は聞く。「現時点では何もお話しすることはありません」「現時点ではお話ししないということであれば、いつかお話しするということですか」「いつかお話しするかどうかもお話ししません」「これ以上お話ししないのであればもう無理ですね。では、取調べを終わります」。

　その後、作成された調書に署名・指印を求めるという手順だ。遠隔操作だと署名・指印はどうするのだろうと思っていたら、紙をもった検察事務官が部屋に入ってきた。意外とアナログなのである。ものの10分ほどで検事取調べは終わった。

　通常であれば、その後検察が勾留請求をして、被疑者は裁判所に連れていかれる。しかし、この日はそのまま関空警察署に帰るという。何があったのか異例だと、車中で護送の警察官もつぶやいていた。

　２０２４年大統領選で再選を目指すバイデン氏は、マスク着用ガイドラインを一笑に付すことで、パンデミック疲れを起こしている国民との距離を縮めようとしているかのようだ。
　バイデン氏は５日、ホワイトハウスで行われた８０代のベトナム戦争帰還兵の叙勲式で、受賞者の首に勲章をかける際にマスクを外した。
　４日にはジル夫人が新型コロナ検査で陽性と判明。叙勲式の数時間前には側近らが、大統領は人前での着用など、米国のマスク着用ガイドラインに従うと述べていた。
　バイデン氏は６日にも、港湾労働者の労働協約に関する演説の場に黒いマスクを振りかざして登場。
　冒頭のあいさつで「きょうも検査を受けたが、すべて異常なしだ。しかし、１０日ほどマスクを着けなければならないと言われ続けている」と述べた。さらに、にやりと笑いながら「でも、マスクを着けずにここに登場したことは彼らには言わないでほしい」と付け加えた。
　バイデン氏は米国のパンデミックからの回復をアピールしているが、ここ数週間の感染者数と入院患者数は増加している。
　カリーヌ・ジャンピエール大統領報道官は、バイデン氏の２０か国・地域（Ｇ２０）首脳会議（サミット）に出席する計画に変更はないと説明したが、他の首脳と対面する際にマスクを着用するかどうかは明らかにしなかった。【翻訳編集ＡＦＰＢＢＮｅｗｓ】

イーロン・マスクの発想を支える3つのSF作品…曲解していると指摘する声も - Business Insider Japan

8月21日にニューヨーカー誌に掲載されたマスクの評伝記事は、彼自身が影響を受けたものとして常に挙げてきた、3つのSF作品に言及している。

これらの作品と｢偉大な人物が驚異的なテクノロジーを使って逆境に打ち勝つ｣というそのテーマは、マスクの意思決定の根底にある発想を、ある程度説明してくれるかもしれない。だが、一部からは、マスクはこうした作品が本当に訴えたいことを理解していないという批判の声もあがっている。

｢xAI｣の設立は『銀河ヒッチハイク・ガイド』の影響が見て取れる

ダグラス・アダムス（Douglas Adams）の『銀河ヒッチハイク・ガイド（原題：The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy）』は、強烈な風刺に満ちたSFコメディ小説だ。銀河バイパス建設のために突然地球が消滅させられた結果、地球人唯一の生き残りとなった人物の珍道中を描いている。

マスクはかつて、この物語について、｢重要な点に光を当てている。それは、答えよりも問いのほうが難しい場合が多いということだ｣と発言していた。

『銀河ヒッチハイク・ガイド』に登場する、｢生命、宇宙、そして万物についての究極の疑問の答え｣を導き出すというスーパーコンピューターは、マスクが立ち上げた新会社｢xAI｣のミッションである｢宇宙の真の性質を理解する｣に影響を与えたように見える。

それどころかマスク氏は、この会社の創立日（その数字を合計すると42になる）も、この小説に出てくる｢生命と万物に関する究極の疑問の答えとされる数字｣にちなんだものであることを示唆している。

しかし、歴史学者でハーバード大学教授のジル・ルポール（Jill Lepore）は、マスクがこの小説のテーマを曲解していると批判する。ルポールは、2022年にポッドキャスト｢ネクスト・ビッグ・アイデア｣にゲスト出演した際のインタビューで、こう述べている。

｢ダグラス・アダムスが訴えているのは、『金持ちの開拓者を他の惑星に派遣して、豪華な植民地を建設するようなことをすべきではない、そういう考え方は間違っている』ということだ。彼は風刺小説を書き、どう間違っているかを、手を替え品を替えして示しているのだ｣

｢この小説がマスクの生き方のガイドになっているわけだが、彼はこのガイドを、この物語がまさに異を唱えている事柄を正当化するために用いている｣と彼女は付け加えた。

宇宙旅行に駆り立てる原動力は｢ファウンデーション｣シリーズ

スペースXの最高経営責任者（CEO）を務めるマスクは、2013年にガーディアン紙が行ったインタビューで、スペースXの火星探査ミッションは、アイザック・アシモフの古典的SF｢ファウンデーション｣シリーズに影響を受けていると明かしたことがある。彼はこのシリーズから、｢文明はサイクルを描いて変動する｣という知見を得たと述べていた。

マスクはそこでこう語っている。

｢人類が地球以外の場所に生命体を送り込むことが可能になったのは、（地球の）45億年の歴史で初めてだ。このことを考えると、このような機会がある状況が今後も長期間続くと楽観視せず、可能性があるうちに行動することが賢明のように思われる｣

｢ファウンデーション｣シリーズでは、かなり以前から崩壊が始まりつつあった銀河帝国で、数学者のハリ・セルダン（Hari Seldon）が｢心理歴史学｣という新理論を用いて、1万年にわたって続くと考えられた混乱と暴力の時期を、1000年間に短縮し、比較的平穏な状況が続くよう計画する。

このSFの内容が、｢人類文明が脅威にさらされている｣というマスクの信念の形成にどう影響を与えたかは、容易に見て取れるだろう。

しかし、文学レビューサイト｢リテラリー・ハブ（Literary Hub）｣の編集長を務めるジョニー・ダイアモンド（Jonny Diamond）は、マスクがこのシリーズから得たとする知見に強烈に反発している。ダイアモンドは、リテラリー・ハブに掲載した論説記事で、ますます居住困難な環境になりつつある地球のために解決策を導き出そうとするのではなく、｢ごく少数の人を宇宙に送り出す試み｣のために、あまりに多くの私財を投じているとしてマスク氏を批判した。

ビデオゲーム｢デウスエクス｣と、そのサイバーパンクな世界観をこよなく愛している

マスク氏は、2000年にアメリカで発売されたSFビデオゲーム｢デウスエクス（Deus Ex）｣の大ファンのようだ。これまで、X（旧ツイッター）への投稿で繰り返し言及し、さらには、このゲームに登場する銃のレプリカをベッドサイドに置いているほどだ。

さらにマスク氏は、自らが立ち上げた、脳にマイクロチップを埋め込むブレーン・マシン・インタフェース（BMI）の開発企業、ニューラリンク（Neuralink）について説明する際にも、このゲームに言及している。彼はXへの投稿で、この企業のツールが｢通常の周波数や振幅を超えて、可聴域を拡張する可能性がある。まさに『デウスエクス』だ｣と書いていた（ゲームの登場人物たちは、肉体と機械が細胞レベルで融合するサイボーグ技術｢ナノ・オーグメンテーション｣を受けており、身体の至るところに特殊な機能を発動させる装置が備え付けられている）。

このゲームでは、主人公のJC・デントン（J.C.Denton）が、実世界をほうふつとさせる陰謀論や腐敗した組織、秘密の政府機関と戦う。このゲームに言及したマスクの投稿からは、ゲーム内に登場するイルミナティ的な秘密組織が、人々を抑圧するために製造したウイルスを、現実世界の新型コロナウイルスになぞらえる意図がうかがえる。

だが、｢デウスエクス｣のファンからは、マスクを揶揄する声も次々にあがっている。このゲームのプロットを自分の都合の良いように読み取っているというのだ。

■発売の狙い

当社が実施した今後のマスク着用に関する意識調査※2では、約9割が「シーンに応じてマスク着用を今後も続けたい」と回答しており、その中でも、40代（88.2％）、50代（90.3％）、60代（91.7％）では特に高い着用意向がうかがえたことから、今後も感染症予防や花粉症対策などで継続的な需要が見込まれています。

Ｘ（旧ツイッター）の会長兼最高技術責任者、イーロン・マスク氏は同社の米国での広告収入低迷は有力ユダヤ人団体、名誉毀損（きそん）防止同盟（ＡＤＬ）のせいだと主張した。

　　マスク氏は４日の一連の投稿で、ＡＤＬによる「広告主への圧力が主因となり」、広告収入はなお以前を60％下回っていると論じた。

　　マスク氏は自分が昨年、当時のツイッターを買収して以来、ＡＤＬは同プラットフォームと自分を反ユダヤ主義者だと「誤った非難をする」ことでＸを「葬ろうとしている」と指摘した。

　　その上で、ＡＤＬがこの非難を続けるなら法的措置も選択肢の一つになり得ると付け加えた。マスク氏は、自分は「言論の自由には賛成」だが「いかなる」反ユダヤ主義にも反対だとした。

　　ＡＤＬはマスク氏による買収以降、同プラットフォームにおけるハラスメントや過激なコンテンツの報告が急増していると指摘してきた。

　　マスク氏は別の投稿で、Ｘが生き残るために米広告収入を以前の水準に戻す必要はなくなったとしながらも、収入が回復すれば「うれしい」としている。

　　マスク氏はＸが全ての人に開かれたフォーラムである必要があると強調し、ＡＤＬに対し、要求をオープンかつ明確に表現するよう提案した。その上で、「彼らは行き過ぎていると私は考えているが、おそらく一般の人たちは彼らに同意するだろう」とコメントした。
